Observing the dualities of life and seeking moments of balance within them fascinates Ameet. This body of work is a manifestation of the harmony between chaos & order, spontaneity & composition, form & essence, colors & shapes, light & shadow, opacity & transparency, vividness & subtlety.
“When we accept the opposites, we start seeing the whole and then experience the sublime, transient & timeless nature of it” he says. These are values that you find him constantly incorporating in his work.
Contemplation is the prework and stillness marks the beginning of his work. From there he builds it up - sometimes slowly and other times with extreme speed - layer by transparent layer. The light bouncing throughand within the layers brings life into it. He believes that every moment has infinite possibilities and his only truth is to embrace them all.
Work for him is a practice for life. While having a successful career in business management, building multimillion dollar businesses and brands, he needed a greater, more personal kind of intensity. He realised that his art practice provided that boundless intensity and that’s when he made the choice to paint full time.
Ameet is a self taught artist, based out of Basel, Switzerland. His works are held in private collections in India, United Kingdom and the United States.
