the practice:
In life & in art, I am deeply drawn to the universal - love, innocence, joy, beauty - things that embody the essence of humanity or nature itself. In seeking this universal essence, I have realized that the journey needs to begin with exploring the depths of oneself. This inquiry has led to deeper questions: Who am I? What is balance, boundlessness, shūnyatā, oneness? Reflecting on these questions and observing the subtle revelations that emerge has become my process. It is in this state of mind - being present to the canvas and medium, free from predefined outcomes & open to the infinite possibilities - that I have found the work to be true to the moment & effortless.
Through oil paints, I create work that is abstract - as it best precipitates my experiences. Each works takes weeks to grow, as thin transparent layers of paint are patiently stretched on linen.
I want this work to be an honest reflection of my process and personal journey. My hope is that even a glimpse into it can open the door to something deeper and more universal for those who engage with it
After working 15 years with great organisations such as Johnson & Johnson and ITC leading global brands and large teams, I found the practice of art to have a greater resonance with my life journey and transitioned to being a self taught artist.
I am currently based in Basel, Switzerland, and grew up in Mumbai, India
